ILLETAS Mallorca

Majorca’s smart side
This village on Majorca’s southwest coast has earned itself a reputation as the island’s Monte Carlo, thanks to its ritzy hotels and upscale vibe. You’ll find a handful of shops and restaurants around the main street, Passeig de les Illetas, but its real USP is its green, pine-clad hills and dramatic rocky coast. And when you want bright lights, you’re just 10 kilometres from the island capital, Palma.

A chic cove
What Playa de Illetas, the main beach, lacks in size, it makes up for in style. This sandy cove is immaculately clean, with warm, transparent waters. And being close to the main road, you’re never far from amenities – the northern end of the sands is dotted with bars and restaurants. There’s a fancy beach club, too, where staff will bring you champagne at your hammock.

Hop on a bus to Palma
Bus numbers 3 and 104 will whisk you straight to Majorca’s capital Palma, which people say looks a bit like Barcelona. Like that city, it’s got its share of landmarks, such as the stunning La Seu Cathedral, which took 300 years to build. Another similar highlight is the car-free old town, or Barri Gòtic, a maze of narrow lanes that’s now home to cool cafés and quirky shops

Bike lane
A tree lined pedestrian footpath/bike lane the Calvià Promenade, begins in Cas Català and runs westward for 32 km. linking together the resorts of Illetes, Portals Nous, Palmanova, Magaluf, Santa Ponça and Peguera.

Puerto Portals
The prestigious Puerto Portals attracts the most luxurious yachts in the Mediterranean and the atmosphere in theport’s restaurants and bars is an experience not to be missed. And for a fantastic day out for all the family visit Marineland and be marvelled by the fantastic dolphin, sea-lion and parrot shows, the aquarium, minizooand children´s play area.
